+--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | 15th International Colloquium on | | Structural Information and Communication Complexity | | | | SIROCCO 2008 | | | | http://www.unine.ch/sirocco08 | | | | June 17-20, 2008, Villars-sur-Ollon, Switzerland | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ CALL FOR PAPERS The Colloquia on Structure, Information, Communication, and Complexity (SIROCCO) focus on the relationship between information and efficiency in decentralized (distributed, parallel, and network) computing, i.e., the study of those factors that are significant for the relationship between the computation and the communication complexities of distributed problems, and in particular on the interplay between local knowledge, and global efficiency. Original papers are solicited from all those areas where the interplay between local structural knowledge and global communication and computation complexity takes place, in particular distributed computing, parallel computing, network computing (from ad hoc and sensor networks to high-speed networks), mobile computing (autonomous robots, etc.), and related areas. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to): distributed algorithms, compact data structures, information dissemination, informative labeling schemes, combinatorial optimization, etc., with potential applications to large scale distributed systems including global computing platforms, peer-to-peer systems and applications, social networks, network protocols (e.g., routing, broadcasting, localization). SUBMISSIONS Submitted papers must be written in English and should not exceed 12 pages using 11-point font and reasonable margins, including figures, tables and references. The formal proceedings is planned to be published as a volume in the Springer-Verlag Lecture Notes in Computer Science series. Authors of accepted papers are required to submit the final, camera-ready versions of their papers after the Conference in LNCS format (http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html). Each participant will receive a copy of the final proceedings.
